I need your support: Help me participate in the 3rd Asia Pacific Feminsit Forum in Thailand in September 2017

Dear Friends, Fellow Feminists,

To my own surprise, I got invited to participate in the 3rd Asia Pacific Feminist Forum in Chiang Mai in Thailand this September to represent the community based organisation “The Phnom Penh Feminist Film Festival” soon to be the “Cambodia Feminist Alliance” that I founded with 4 incredible friends and colleagues in April 2017 during my stay in Cambodia. The Asia Pacific Feminist Forum is a participatory event bringing together activists, women human rights defenders, academics, lawyers, and global allies. The forum will facilitate the sharing of tools and resources, provide space for advocacy, strengthen capacities and to collectively strategise to build our power in the era of authoritarian, patriarchal, late capitalism.

The Phnom Penh Feminist Film Festival works closely with women's rights - and female LGBTIQ activists, as well as with women’s rights NGOs to increase visibility of the feminist movement in Cambodia and all over South East Asia. What started as a rather innocent idea of creating a private event, screening feminist movies somehow escalated into a funded event with three separate sessions and around 500 visitors and over a dozen expert speakers from various organisations and sectors.

Those of you who know me and the rest of my team know how much work we put into our previous project and how passionate and determined we are to continue our work. This Forum is an exceptional opportunity for us to grow our network and our expertise which will help our work in Cambodia immensely.
