I need your help to complete creating an adult art graphic novel

Life has become quite challenging for many, while for others, some have found true abundance and success since the start of this pandemic, I am a Graphic/3D Designer/Artist and musician with over 30 years of experience.

I have also been in the thick of one massive ongoing and seemingly endless struggle which started 10 years ago when I was diagnosed with a terminal medical condition and was told I had about a year to live. The doctors suggested I get onto the organ transplant list, so I did what most would do in a situation like that - ignore the doctors and fight through it! Well, to summertime on those dark days; I fought hard day in out for 3 years because I was in the prime of life then, and not ready to give in as yet. I did that with distinction, so I AM TODAY COMPLETELY CURED OF THAT DISEASE I WAS FIGHTING and without the need of a liver transplant either.

You may be wondering at this stage what I am struggling with then, and doing here asking for financial assistance then? Well, what you don't hear about with these success stories is what happens to many after the feelings of winning have worn off, and don't get me wrong, I am most grateful for this 2nd chance I fought so hard for, but I have had to endure terrible hard times financially since then while trying to get my career back on track, and not doing so well by that.

I could say I was doing well-being self-employed and living a very fruitful life before the health problems started, but after not working for 2 years while recovering, I found my savings depleted in no time and my case my mother's savings, as well as she, took me in when I was unable to take care of myself.

I was lucky though I guess, to have had a laptop then, which was all I owned back then, but definitely, something that has to this day kept us off the streets.

It's tough for artists, and well known that almost all artists have or will find themselves in a situation where they have what seems to be nothing, and even more so these days. It's also rare though that artists do not find a way out or through these struggles which is very self-assuring, I have been living with adult ADHD on top of what has been almost 10 years of ongoing struggle and disappointment. One main reason is trying to stay medicated and this has been a challenge on its own. with little to no money at times which would cause me to laps in my treatment and set me up on a course of failure because in order for anybody to get through such difficult times, one needs to stay motivated and focused, which in my case is what I would have none of if not properly treated, and with the ridiculously high costs of ADHD medication these days, please believe me when I say that it costs me a lot more than the average person to get out of bed in the mornings. I will go further and say that the amount of effort it takes a person without a mental disability such as mine can be easily double for me, and the reason as to why it's about 10 years later, and I have not been able to move on as yet. It's been a constant 2 steps forward and 2 steps back since.

So if I were to say that the only thing that I own today is still just a laptop, which is what has managed to get by on until now doing mainly freelance Graphic and Web design work, but as a senior designer (well not senior as in age, but senior as in, experienced) I have had to compete against juniors who are happy to earn a salary of R4000 a month or equivalent hourly rate so my chances of getting a premium rate for the number of skills and experience I have been rather disappointing and financially crippling, but something good has come out of this when I finally managed to upgrade my laptop to something very similar speed-wise as before, but slightly better, and the new one also happens to switch on when you press the power button. : )

However, I am still determined to get through this, and morose today than ever, and determined to take my matters into my own hands and tap into an income stream that will give me my back with the means to start up my own business and become completely self-sustained once again.

This comes to the reason then why I am here and asking you for funding as I managed so far to get through about half of a graphic novel which I have been creating, and almost at the stage again where production will have to stop completely due to being unable to maintain it and myself for that matter as the holidays are coming up and I will not have any regular freelance work over that 4 week period, which is too painful to imagine as it's happened before and not something I would wish on anyone,

However, with your most generous and kind help, I could use that time to complete this project and have it ready to launch by January, which I am confident enough, that if and when I get to complete it will be published as I believe in it and myself that much.

So far, I have spent over 1000 hours on this Publication and created over 1000 high-resolution 3D renders using professional and free software like Blender, and done this on the laptop which was 2nd hand when I purchased it and about 7 years old. It's definitely not what any gamer would be impressed with and not what an art studio would even consider possible, but I must say that creating this novel has been an absolute joy for me, and something that I wish the world to experience as well once it's complete.

So with your most generous contributions, I would in turn be able to complete this publication, and that will, in turn, put me in a powerful position once again as I would have something of value to put out into the marketplace.

Ironically, this Publication is a Superhero story, but with a twist as it's aimed at a diverse adults' only audience due to the main character needing "sexual pleasure" in order to maintain her powers, and without this pleasure, she would even die. I am aware that some people may wish to categorize my work as other things, and some even not categorize it at all, but I call it a work of art that I am creating and I am 100% certain that a majority of people will agree.

Many people ask me if I am not concerned about this content excluding under 18's limit my potential audience and success? I would argue that this content will tap me into the Sexual Health industry as well as a few others, and by not being suitable for under 18's will be made up by the hundreds of thousands of adults around the globe who still read and enjoy comics and graphic novels today so with your help and my determination, mine will find and earn a place in many of those proud collections as well. I will then be in a position where I can be in charge of my life once again and I have found my true passion and calling recently, and this is where it starts and once this publication is complete, I already have ideas for the sequels and other similar publications all waiting for their turn to be presented to the world...
