Hello everyone. My name is Maja and I live with my family in small town in Slovenia. We have found ourselves in a very difficult financial situation in which I really don't see any other option anymore,so this is my last try to reach out for help. First of all I would like to apologize for my English, it is not my native language but I will do my best to describe our situation.

We are a family of 3 soon to be 4 (totally unplanned due to our situation) with two dalmatian girls. We live very humbly and try to help our community as much as we can but this time, it's us who need help desperately.

Our downfall began when my father suddenly passed away, a day before Christmas in 2018. I was on maternity leave at that time,so my salary wasn't that good at all. I have a younger sister with who I had to share all the costs of the funeral for my father, who had zero savings and lots of unpaid bills and debt on the bank. Due to that, I had to leave my bills unpaid for the most of the time and even when I was eventually able to start paying my old bills the wheel just kept spinning, there was no way to get out of this circle of debt. I paid for old bills but new ones still came each month and add to the pile of unpaid stuff. I can't count on any social service at my country as the amount is too big and they won't pay for it. Me and my partner both work, both on minimum wage, mine is even lower as I work only 6 hours a day, 6 days a week, if not, we would have problems with taking to and out of kindergarten our daughter. Because of my pregnancy I had some health problems so I had to stay at home for awhile, which again decreased our income and made it impossible to pay anything, and because of credit card I had to make after my father passed (otherwise we wouldn't have for food at all) I have negative balance on my bank account almost every month, they paycheck covers it but most of the time is not enough. So,right now the biggest problem that we are facing is eviction out of apartment. Apartment is owned by our town municipality and because we owe that much money they put us to court and blocked my bank account. Meaning even when my pay comes on 15th they will take what they can ( even tho there is nothing to take because of my negative balance at the moment). We owe them 840.eur in rent and have no idea how to pay them but if we won't, they will evict us and frankly we have nowhere to go. With winter coming I really have no idea what to do. His family helps us as much as they can but I feel ashamed that I have to ask them every month for money, that's not how I am. My family doesn't care about me so asking them for any help is useless. There is also our electricity bill, which is around 200.eur and bill for water 400.eur. All together is a lot more that we can handle and everyone is threatening us to cut us off. Our daughter is 2 years old and I can't let that happen. If i'd be alone I wouldn't care much, I would manage somehow but I can't let happen this to my child. I am ashamed that I have to ask for money this way, but I really see no other option at the moment. I would really like to start normal life, without worrying when will they come and kick us out of apartment or if we will still have electricity tomorrow. I really hope, that there will come some help our way and put smile on our faces yet again. Thank you for your time reading our (short) story, there is so much more to tell but that is as short as possible.

Update posted by Maja Kravanja at 09:43 pm

A little update from our family... Red cross and church chairty were able to help us to pay electricity bill and water bill, however the stuff that is still remaining is the rent which we would really need to pay, but we have no solution for that so yet again
