December 2015, I graduated from the University of Buea, Cameroon. I had a Bachelor's degree in Curriculum Studies and Teaching in Chemistry (as a Chemistry Teacher). I couldn't find a good job, all I could get is a teaching job small school where I was paid about 30,000 FCFA, which is approximately $60 USD monthly. I lived in a small room that I paid $20 USD per month as rent and $5 USD for monthly electric bills. The balance from my salary could not carry me through the month so I started thinking of alternative legal means of making money. I read business books, success theories until I learned that e-commerce was the future. I needed a startup capital so this was not an option to me.

In November 2016, teachers in the Anglophone Regions in Cameroon started a protest which was in support of a protest that was initiated by lawyers. The teachers and lawyers protest was for the demand for the respect of an initial constitution that has not been respected by the regime in power for over 5 decades and a stop to marginalization and suppression of the anglophones. Cameroon is made up of two countries that came together to form one after gaining independence from their British and French colonial masters. As response to the the protest, the government of Cameroon cracked down on the civil society who had taken over from the teachers and lawyers who could not continue because they were being arrested and convicted. School has been shut down since then and I lost my job. My landlady kicked me out of the room for not being able to pay bills.

Due to the resilience of the anglophone community, the government of Cameroon sent soldiers who burnt down villages and killed dozens of civilians while forcing some to run and start living in bushes. Boys started picking up arms for self defense purposes. This has gone to a full war situation as there is now a separatist movement demanding a total separation from Cameroon into a new state, Ambazonia.

I had moved in with my fiance, and due to the growing and worsening situation in the country, we now live together with my fiance's younger sister Lucy, my fiance's son Neeraj and my younger sister's son, Caleb who have relocated because of the war to where we are which is better. We have a lot of difficulties taking care of them since it is really hard to secure a job.

I have learned a lot about e-commerce and all I need is a start up capital so that I can start a drop shipping store which would be the simplest business method for someone like me in a war zone. I have even obtained a Google Digital Marketing Certificate and all I need is the means to use the knowledge that I have to earn a living a take care of Lucy, Neeraj and Caleb. With the money from the business Lucy, Neeraj and Caleb would be able to go back to school and we would be able to move to a more secure town where they would be able to continue schooling. Also I'll be able to provide them with shelter, food and clothing.
