Education is a basic human right, yet those who need it the most-the children and young adults living in poverty are the least likely to attend and complete school.

My name is Fanelwa Samantha Nkumbi I am staying at Kayamandi Township in Stellenbosch. I am looking for a donation or funding so that I can build my career and take my position as a productive member of society, and in turn assist others living in poverty to enhance their quality of life. I have been accepted at the University of Western Cape to study towards the Advanced Diploma in Public Administration course this year(2020). I am unable to raise fees for my education and my mother, who is a pensioner and poor, looks up on me for upkeep, is unable to pay for my study fees at UWC.I am working as a temporary worker under the Expanded Public Work Programme at Stellenbosch Municipality. I have been struggling to find a permanent job because most of the public organizations require a candidate who have obtained a Public administration qualification, with requisite experience. Through various temporary positions,I have accumulated more than 5 years administration experience, so I decided to study this year because I believe that if I can get this qualification in public administration it will change my life for better, and will improve my chances to find a permanent job in public sector
I tried to apply for a loan to pay my school fees, but my application was not approved because I am working as a temporary worker - my contract will be terminated on the 30th of June 2020. I am earning R5500.00 per month and from this I still need to pay the rent, and I am also lovingly raising the young children of my brother who passed away in 2010.I have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, but I do not have the experience in the marketing field which makes it difficult for me to find a marketing-related position.I’ve tried to apply for marketing jobs with no luck, and have since discovered a passion for public service, hence my decision to continue my studies in public administration. I believe that if I can obtain the Advanced Diploma in Public Administration it will open more opportunities for me in a municipality’s , or even a position at provincial level, and I will be able to change the situation at home, and brighten future for my daughter and the people who depend on me. The total fees for this course is R44000 which includes registration fee, tuition and study material for the whole year but the University requires 50% of the total cost before the 15 of June 2020, which is R22000.00.

Registration fee 2020 R1500.00
