My name is Grosu Ionut Marius and I am 25 years old.
I was born in Bucharest, Romania. I went to school just like any normal child, but it all changed in a rainy day when I had a train accident. Behind our block was passing a freight train carrying the cargo at a warehouse in neighborhood and me and more children we play in that area after school.
In a day, coming from school, after I finished my homework, Iwent out to play, of course, I went to the area of railway line because there was a football field. One of those merchandise then went to the warehouse, when suddenly one of the children hit the ball and went on the train's own, I ran quickly to take her not to break, it and slip myself, I could not I was running and my train was over my feet. That day I lost both my legs and since then my life has changed. I spent three months in the hospital with infernal pain after another 3 months on recovery and other things that make me manage to move on. After that six months I returned home, of course I could not sleep because of pain. My mother cradles my feet like a little child to calm me and I will thank her for this my whole life, though, that she is no longer among us. I did not give up school, I continued my school so far in the 6th grade, the children were pretty bad with me, they laughed at me, they played, but I do not take them into account I was going further.
The accident happened in 2001 when i was 9 years old. In 2004 my dad died, He became alcoholic after my accident. He could not see me like that and cross over.
My mother being pregnant when my dad died. After the death of our father we moved to Piatra Neamt because our mother was from here. She was a single mother with two children and the third one had to come, plus my feet. I understand that it was very difficult for us to maintain. Of course it has been difficult for us all this time.
In 2007 someone came to me and wondered if I wanted to take part in competitions on wheelchair. Of course, I said yes, without stopping to think, I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible, to get out of that state. And so I started doing sports on wheelchair.
In 2010 I was transferred to sports club in the citynamed Arad, which is called SPORTS CLUB TEMERARII-ARAD, and there I started to play basketball at a high level.
I met some wonderful people. I love this people, who helped me a lot, they hosted me in their house, they gave me food, clothes, money and everything I needed and that's why I owe them all my life. Through them I managed to change my life and I managed to see beautiful places, other countries, I met many people in wheelchair.
Sport has made me reassure myself. I even managed some of the sports to perform in the country. You can visit the site of this wheelchair sports club to : www.cstemerariiarad.ro
Shuffled with them until last year.
Last year my mother died too. Now I have no more than a sister and brother in the world who are younger and I can not help them and I am very sorry. I moved to Piatra Neamt again to be closer to my family. It is very hard for me to live here alone but I will not give up to life as I have not done before. I'm a fighter!
My biggest desire is to have a beautiful family and our house. I do not ask too much of this life. If you can help me, I thank you from the soul and God will see this.
