Dutch inventor Boyan Slat founded The Ocean Cleanup at the age of 18 in 2013.It is a non-profit organization, developing advanced technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. By utilizing the ocean currents to our advantage, the passive drifting systems are estimated to clean up half the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in 5 years’ time.

Este o organizatie non-profit care dezvolta tehnologii avansate pentru a colecta plasticul din oceane. Folosind curentii oceanelor spre avantajul nostru, sistemele plutitoare si pasive vor curata jumatate din Marea Insula de Gunoaie din Pacific in doar 5 ani.
