PROJECT BENEFICIARY: CHILDREN’S HOME OF EUCHARISTIC LOVE & KINDNESS (CHELK)

This institution is a home to young girls, from age 3 to 20. These girls are orphans; some of them abused while the rest were abandoned by their parents / relatives due to lack of means to support them in their basic needs. Children’s Home is being managed by the missionary sisters of Eucharistic Love and Kindness.

CHELK is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of the Philippines. This is located in Pampanga, Philippines.

Sudden turn-around. In an unfortunate incident, the kids and the sisters were asked to leave the convent. At present, they are renting four small apartment units, which are less than 60 square meters each. The funds and donations that were originally given to support the daily needs and education of the children, are now also being used to pay for their monthly rent, resulting to higher monthly expenses. Because of limited space, the institution is not able to accommodate more kids. CHELK is not government-funded. The financial support is coming from different non-government, corporate and individual groups on a voluntary basis.

THE CAUSE: BUILD A HOME PROJECT

This project was birthed with the purpose of building a permanent home for the children. With the new facility, the institution can be a blessing to more kids who are victims of the same circumstances. A group of concerned individuals was formed for CHELK to carry out this cause. TLAP is part of this group. We are in the process of initiating and executing different fund-raising activities to finance this endeavor. We are also reaching out to government officials, colleagues from work, family and friends for financial assistance and support. One grantor, who owns a certain parcel of land consisting of 1,000 square meters, granted CHELK the privilege to use the property for the sole purpose of building an orphanage – a home for these children.

We are reaching out to you to be part of this great cause and to be a channel of blessing for the children.

YOU CAN BE A BLESSING!

Any donation raised will be used as part of the building fund. The group is still working with the architects and engineers of the land grantor for the cost of building the facility. The approximate amount will definitely lead to more than one million pesos (as the cost of building a 120 sq m house is already at Php1-2M, depending on materials and design). Once the budget is available, we will send it as a separate document. We will update you in every step taken and every phase of the “Build a Home” project. The money will be used to purchase cement, hollow blocks, steel and other construction materials for the building.

We know that this project has a long way to go, but your help will definitely mean so much for these young children. This amount will go a long way and will definitely make so much difference.

Feel free to send us a message or reach out to us (to any member of TLAP - Turning Lives Around Pilipinas) for any question.
