I Am Music 2014

We are a community performance arts organisation, that uses performance arts to bring the community together, providing; unique platforms, work-based learning opportunities , and opportunities for skills growth. 
We urgently need funding to launch  our  community project  that will facilitate work-based learning for young people through performance arts The idea of integrating performance arts with work-based learning began in 2008, when a group of 4 young people 18-25 began creating and staging events and workshops centered around dance bringing together over 6,000 people over the years -raising over £10,000 for charities (Love Music Hate Racism, Dance Aid UK, Beat Bullying) and the organisation, and with a strong ethos in learning new skills and experiences through event management the demand for services offered began to grow. We currently support 100 young people under 25 in dance and 15 in event management. In 2014 we look to launch a community festival and establish ourselves as the go to organisation in bridging the gap between work and education.Please help us to raise money for this project to go ahead .If we don’t raise the money, it would put a stop to the following:-          Opportunities for  work-based learning through  I Am Music Youth Programme-          Opportunities for over 300 volunteers to learn new skills and experiences  through the I Am Music Festival to be held in July 2014-          Opportunities for over 50 schoolchildren within Colchester to have new experiences in learning new skills, through the reward based system I Am music Community Group are  set to work with local schools on  -          Opportunities for over 500 school children within Colchester and surrounding towns to be involved with  performance arts in the community.  Please visit www.iamusic.org or email us at [email protected] to find out more
