Hypertension awareness and education

I am planning a small project to raise awareness and educate people about hypertension and heart diseases in rural communities in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. 

I am Ndifreke Etim, I have a Master's degree in Public Health, have a passion for global health and cardiovascular disease prevention and I also volunteer for the American heart association. I will be travelling to Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria where I will educate people in rural communities about hypertension and prevention of heart diseases. I will also check blood pressure of members of the community and refer those with high blood pressure for further screening by a doctor. The money raised will help cover transportation, vaccination, educational materials and others

I also hope this will lay the groundwork for future work in the area which will look at the perception of heart disease in this region and the pattern of care received by people who are diagnosed with heart diseases.
