Campaign Story
Hello. My name is Sthembile which means "hope" in my mother tongue, Isizulu. I'm a
South African girl coming from a poor family where my father is the breadwinner and my mother is very ill and cannot work in her current condition. I'm enrolled in a university in a different state/province so I'm pretty much a thousand miles away from home. I face several challenges on a daily basis. I can't afford to buy textbooks and pay for accommodation. My bursary pays 70% of my rent (rent is $370). I receive an allowance that just covers groceries but there's never enough money left over to pay for the remaining 20% of the rent and for textbooks. I was mugged recently on my way home from campus after studying at the library and lost my cellphone , the only thing I had to my name, and the last $20/ R240 I had. Please help me raise enough to buy textbooks and pay for rent . My academic results are good but I'm afraid I might be forced to drop out and get a job. I'm an ambitious young black girl who dreams of escaping the shackles of poverty. Please help me raise funds, any amount will go a long way, as long as it comes out of the goodness of your own heart
