Campaign Story
Hey, Its Farah here,
Ever since I was a young child, I felt an urge to contribute to society, to help the weak and the vulnerable. And as a child, I felt that I could contribute to the animal life, hence I began fostering and medicating animals while living between Syria and United Arab Emirates. Later on, I became a volunteer in an animal shelter in Sharjah until the time when war broke down in my country.
I was 21 and still in university, but it was only then that i realized that there are too many humans that I can help as well.
I graduated with a degree in architectural engineering by the age of 23 and had my first job in Sales, however that never filled my need to contribute to the world. It took me a year to manage to get out of my Sales job, and that was the turning point in my life. I quit my job, sold my car and packed my bags and left to Lebanon. I chose Lebanon due to the increasing number of Syrian families who had fled to Lebanon along with the increasing numbers of local non-governmental organizations.
I have been here for the past two years working in the Humanitarian field, however my degree doesn't support me in giving the most that I want to.
Currently I am a monitoring and evaluation officer in a local NGO (Non Governmental Organization) as well as an English teacher volunteer for a local project supporting Syrian kids who have no access to school due to the war.
As the situation keeps on worsening in Syria and all over the world for vulnerable humans, I decided to pursue a Masters Degree in International Humanitarian studies with NOHA "Network of Humanitarian Action", after universities research to find the best university that offers the program that I want to enroll in, and keeping in consideration where my family members who fled Syria reside, I decided that NOHA program would be a perfect match. (Here’s a link to the program: https://www.nohanet.org/masters )
I just got the offer letter from the University College Dublin, which I am thrilled about!
But what I earn here would not support me to pay my fees, and as my family lost all their belongings back in Syria, I couldnt manage to raise up the amount needed to enroll, move, and move my rescue cats with me (they are three by the way and are very cute)
Help me raise enough money for my two years tuition, to pursue my dream in helping my people as well as all the people around the world.
