Our 6th aid container is leaving the South West at the end of June 2018 and several pallets of aid have already been shipped this year. We have a target of £3990 to cover costs of the shipping container - we have already received some funds via our bank account and PayPal so we now need only £1500 on this fundraiser to cover the rest so CAN YOU HELP US TO REACH THIS!!
Any excess donations will be spent on aid and storage costs for the container!
We have been collecting and shipping aid for the last 2 and a half years and we are once again shipping to Lesvos and Athens. We are sending a container of aid to the Attika warehouse in Greece at the end of June 2018 and we have just sent out pallets of aid out to Lesvos and Athens. The container and the pallets will be filled with much needed Humanitarian Aid donated from across the South West region of the UK.
The refugees on the island of Lesvo still require our support and continued kindness, so that those living in the camps can have some sort of normality and dignity and know that the world has not forgotten them.
Nearly 3 years after the image of the beautiful little boy Alan Kurdi who was washed up on a beach in Turkey appeared across on social media refugees are still arriving in Greece onto the island of Lesvos. The situation has not disappeared - there may not be as much media coverage but it is still happening. Figures of arrivals can be found https://www.facebook.com/AegeanBoatReport/
It is our intention to fill the next container with much needed aid items which have been specifically requested from Greece including items such as, male and female toiletries, nappies, wet wipes, baby milk, food (vegetarian tinned and dried) new socks and underwear for men women and children, t-shirts, and clean towels. In Athens at the Hope Cafe aid is getting low and they need many items which will make their life more comfortable at the mount they need toothbrushes, toothpaste, nappies, wet wipes, baby milk, baby bottles, clean hand towels.
