Human Beings Helping Other Human Beings

The other day I was driving around Houston running errands, the traffic was heavy that day and I was stressed out because I needed to get my errands done ASAP.I suddenly took my head out of the clouds and looked around, and then what I realized at that moment I couldn’t wrap my head around it or understand how people in the United States are homeless.Why are people just looking the other way, it seems like people don’t realize that these are people with feelings too.

I thought about it and realized the reason why I was so unaware of this is because I really hate turning on the TV when the news is on, I feel like the media only shows all the negativity going on in the world, the media puts out such ugliness, they stir the pot with racism, gender issues, religion, and equality…It makes me sick, I only watch the news for the weather and sports; because if I allow myself to get sucked into their dark world of hate, I will become infected with negative thoughts, depression and become a bitter person, so I will never allow that to happen to me.I want to see positive things going on around me and that become the new normal, human beings helping out other human beings; positive relationships between all human beings.

I asked myself if there was anything I could think of to help out the homeless, because summer is over and the cold weather will be here soon.I told myself that if I could come up with an idea then I would help get the word out and I would raise the money myself.

I was in the kitchen making dinner and I thought how much is the cheapest and warmest blanket I can find online.So I found online that it was possible to purchase these blankets for under $5.00 each and if I order a certain dollar amount then my shipping is free, I was so excited because I want the world to see the homeless as people, not as a bum, lazy or just a drunk.I calculated that if I were able to order 693 blankets, this would be a strong goal to get things started, I am wanting to order in bulk and show this company that I am a strong and loyal customer and see if I can get an additional discount on my orders, so I can order more for less.I called the websites customer service number and they kind of gave me the run around, but they did say if I began to order on a regular bases then they would consider an additional discount, I was happy because they did not tell me no!

I was looking through the website when a commercial came on that I never pay attention to, and it was a celebrity talking about how we all needed to help out another country with water, food, medicine, education, shelter and clothing.I was so irritated because we have that problem right here in the United States, so why are they helping them out when we have the exact problems and issues in the United States.We need to get back to helping out our country first then once every American has food, health care, shelter, water, an education and clothing, then we can make other countries a second priority.

Please realize that this is for a great cause, we are helping human beings help out other human beings.I am asking you to give what ever you can spare $1, $3, $10, $100 what ever you have to spare because every dollar counts and I will work hard at getting people aware of what is going on in country. I will be making a facebook page about this and add the link from here to that page so people know where they can go to help out and donate.

I have purchased 20 blankets so far with my own money and it cost me $99.80, I took all 20 blankets put them in my car and drove through the city around 5pm, I handed out all 20 blankets in about 10 minutes, the people that received the blankets were so thankful and appreciative of my generosity, it made me feel so good to see them smile.I did feel bad though because I needed about 50 more blankets for the rest of the people standing around looking at me with disappointment on their faces, I told them I will find a way to get more blankets and I promise I will back.I want to work as hard as I can to help these people that fell on hard times, that are struggling and feel like no one cares or that they don’t matter, I want them to know that they do matter and there is still hope out there for them to get back on their feet.Don’t get me wrong I know they will not be chanting my name and having parades in my honor, but maybe they will look at life a little bit differently and know that they worth saving and want to get the help for themselves to change their lives.

I want there to be more positive things going on in the United States and have people look at each other and want to help others who have fallen on hard times.I would really appreciate if you had any ideas or thoughts on how I can spread the word faster about this I would greatly appreciate it.
