COMMUNITY LABORATORY CENTERS FOR ELDERLY

Aging is a natural process that affects all people and develops in a differentiated way according to family, cultural and social contexts in which it takes place. More than 10 million over 65s live in Italy; many are still a strong resource of experience and ability, even if often they do not find outlets to be valued and adequately supported. To promote a positive vision of the elderly person and enhance their role, a strong diversification is required in the provision of services and interventions, especially through voluntary associations and groups, including voluntary service, according to principles of solidarity between different generations. The associations proposing this project consider, with particular reference to Article 3 of the Constitution, the task of the Italian Republic to promote and foster educational activities throughout the course of life, in order to maintain and develop the cognitive and active skills, also residual, of people. It is the right and duty of every citizen, regardless of age, to expand their cultural heritage, recognizing in it a necessary condition to live well and in good health, to improve and expand their relationships with others and with nature. , to carry out an active social and citizenship role, even outside of work activities, in single or associated form. In view of this, it is assured to citizens, the possibility of access to all cultural and educational opportunities present in the territory or accessible through physical or telematic networks.

This is a project open to all but aimed mainly at the elderly to facilitate their integration in sociocultural reality. The project is designed as a network work aimed at promoting and initiating paths of positive interaction between the different people who live in the city, finds its deepest meaning in the search for opportunities for meeting, mutual knowledge and collaboration. His intent is not so much to reconstruct a weak and disjointed social bond as to create the conditions so that the social actors of the place can themselves recompose it
