In a relatively small city named Kramatorsk (Ukraine), a society for the protection of animals “FRIEND” (Благотворительный фонд "Друг") was created (You can see their logo on the main photo). They’re not very big at the moment, but they do everything to change the attitude towards animals at the city. As there’s not even one animal shelter in the city, most stray cats and dogs end up taking their journey across the rainbow bridge due to well-known reasons, including being brutally murdered... And even though there’re many kind souls among locals, their effort is still not enough to save all the angels.

The society’s prior aim is to finally involve the city authorities in order to fix the problem with stray animals, BUT unfortunately it doesn’t seem to happen quickly enough, so many of those little fur balls still suffer outside, being hungry, cold and abandoned by their irresponsible former owners.

The charitable foundation "FRIEND" unites like-minded volunteers who, by virtue of their possibilities, help animals. It is not a shelter. YET. But TOGETHER we can help them grow and rent some space for the beginning, where they could take a good care of poor animals.

Most probably you’ve never even heard of Kramatorsk and its habitants, but it exists. And real problems exist there too. Why would You help them? Well… why should not someone do something for the last ones in the row? Why shouldn’t we come all together to solve kind of problem like this one? To us, people who live and work in western countries, such donation isn’t going to mean big losses, while to someone in a small post-war city it will mean everything. It will save LIVES of those, who really can't change things by themselves.

Of course, kind acts should be rewarded (at least a little bit, right?)

So I’ve decided that I’ll send beautiful postcards from Ukraine or Czech republic to those of you who donates more than $19. Also, some special souvenirs if the donation is bigger than $49. In case of even bigger donations, don’t hesitate to contact me, and we will agree on the reward of your choice (again, either from UKR or CZ).

The goal of the campaign isn’t fixed. But if we collect $1000-1500, the “FRIEND” society will be able to rent an appropriate place for several months (it's especially important now, while it's so cold outside), where they could keep animals fed, warm and safe until they get new owners. This amount will also be enough to cover various medical expenses related to the furry friends. Or, for example, to get enough of proper meal for them, at least for some time. What I know for sure, is that this kind of help would be deeply appreciated by the society. Maybe it’s even going to help them get enough of attention from the city governors?

Anyways, thank You very much for your attention and have a wonderful day!

Kind regards,
VK
