I used to take my grandfather to restaurants for an evening dinner. Him being very old and weak, while eating, dropped food on his shirt and trousers. Others always watched him in disgust while i was calm.
After he finished eating, i who was not at all embarrassed, quietly took him to the wash room, wiped the food particles, removed the stains, combed his hair and fitted his spectacles firmly. When we came out, the entire restaurant was watching us in dead silence, not able to grasp how someone could embarrass themselves publicly like that.
I settled the bill and started walking out with my grandfather.
At that time, an old man amongst the diners called out to me and asked me, “Don’t you think you have left something behind?”.
And i replied, “No sir, I haven’t”.
The old man told me, “Yes, you have! You left a lesson for every son and hope for every father“.
Last Week he has suffered from a stroke and is under close observation in the ICU since and we cannot move him to a more affordable hospital as of now due to the criticality of his condition. A CT scan showed the clot hemorrhaged and we gave the go signal for a head surgery to relieve pressure on his skull. I have been working and supporting him my entire life, unfortunatley i am uncapable of providig this type of treatement to him alone.
We are knocking on your kind hearts for help and We truly appreciate your help. God bless.
