In just a few weeks I will be returning to the Hopi and Navajo Nations with my friends from the nonprofit, Sumi Nungwa (which means "Coming Together," in the Hopi language).

Once again we will be visiting with the Elders in Sumi Nungwa's circle of care, most of whom live on far-flung homesteads without electricity, running water or many of the other things many of us take for granted.

In addition to the story-sharing and simple visiting that is rich for everyone involved, we'll also bring critical supplies, like food, medical equipment and other important things (corn meal grinder, sewing machine, for example) that are hard to find on the Reservation or just plain out of reach, financially.

We will also continue some long-term projects, like drywalling, replacing or restoring adobe and other light construction and maintenance for Elders who no longer have either the physical strength or money to do it themselves.

We will use your donations to buy the supplies we will give to the Elders and the equipment we need to do our work.  I hope to raise as much money as possible by March 15, so we don't have much time!

You can help by giving generously within your means, and by sharing this project with your friends!

You can either give by clicking on the "Donate Now" button on this web page by using your PayPal account, or by mailing a check (write "Hopi 2013" in the memo line) to:
