Baby Ellie Pascual needs open heart surgery as soon as possible.

In the middle of Chie Pascual’s battle with breast cancer in 2019, she got pregnant with their youngest daughter Ellie (currently 7 months) who was diagnosed with Down Syndrome shortly after birth. Chie breastfeeds and pumps milk from one breast (How inspiring is that?) which so far has kept Ellie's immune system in good shape.

Just a few days ago, Ellie was also diagnosed with Infantile Spasms (she gets seizures several times a day) as well as the most serious septal defect to affect babies with Down Syndrome - Complete Atrioventricular Septal Defect (CAVSD), wherein there is a large hole in the center of the heart, allowing blood to flow between all four chambers of the heart.

CAVSD requires several open heart surgeries (ideally done before 6 months of age) and they have been asked to prepare P800,000+ (US$16,000) for the initial surgery which needs to be done immediately. According to the cardiologist - "You are running out of time."
