THANK YOU for taking the time to read and participate.

Our story is not unique, and I am sure many of you may know someone in a similar situation and by no means are we more important than anyone else going through this. But when Cancer affects someone extremely close, such as your husband and father of your children, you try to do everything in your power to help them live.

I lost my own father to colon cancer December 15, 2009 after a brief 6 month fight. Five years later, Jason was also diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer with metastasis to the liver. I can't begin to explain how surreal it all felt. His strength and resilience over the years leaves me in awe.

I feel very blessed to still have him with us knowing full well others have not been as fortunate. It has been a long and exhausting journey which Jason continues to battle with every ounce of strength he can find. Our daughters’, Jayden 8 and Tristyn 4 are his greatest source of inspiration to fight to live.

In January we found out the cancer returned and also progressed into his lungs and lymph nodes. I keep negotiating and renegotiating with God for more time while thanking HIM for each and every day He allows us to all be together as a family. Sometimes Jason doesn't know what's more stressful to deal with, the cancer or the 3 of us! But humor is one of his greatest qualities and keeps our family home upbeat and his attitude positive.

Since his diagnosis Jason has received approx. 50 treatments of chemo, 2 tumors burned, 5 radiation treatments and 4 major surgeries, where they removed over half of his liver. He lost 2 of the 3 arteries that feed his liver and now only has one source of blood supply. He has also tried various naturalistic medicine and treatments not covered by any health plans which we believe may have helped strengthen his immune system and help him fight throughout these years.

Jason and I have been together for 15 years and we finally decided it was time to celebrate our love and commitment to each other before it was too late in a very intimate and private ceremony on the beach with just our 2 daughters this coming December. We were very excited until we recently received the news that Jason's cancer is continuing to progress despite best efforts from his doctors who currently have him on an experimental trial study which they have decided to stop. Jason is very proud and we are very private and have not really shared all this with many people.

We are now forced to venture outside conventional Canadian hospitals and medicine. A good friend recently put us in touch with their good friend. Her brother 69, has Stage 4 cancer with metastasis to several organs approx. 40 tumors including in his spine and was having trouble walking. After a lot of careful and diligent research on her part, she brought him to CHIPSA hospital in Mexico for an intensive 3 week protocol back in March, with a regiment he had to continue at home upon his return. While speaking with her this weekend she confirmed that most of the cancer is gone, with the exception of a couple of tiny tumors he is still trying to eliminate.

THEY GAVE US HOPE!

We called CHIPSA and after reviewing Jason's file and current condition, he was accepted. They provided us with his recommended protocol which will incur a cost of $35,000USD for the 3 weeks.

You are welcome to read more about CHIPSA in the link provided.
