Hello,
I'm Joseph Ngigi a programmer, musician and band leader at my local church CITAM Ngong based in Kenya, I was diagnosed with severe Ulcerative Colitis in the year 2017 with three quarter of the colon affected at the time hence I'd like to request for your help.
Ulcerative colitis is a chronic disease of the large intestine, also known as the colon, in which the lining of the colon becomes inflamed and develops tiny open sores, or ulcers, that produce pus and mucous. The combination of inflammation and ulceration can cause abdominal discomfort and frequent emptying of the colon.
Ulcerative colitis is the result of an abnormal response by your body's immune system. Normally, the cells and proteins that make up the immune system protect you from infection. In people with IBD, however, the immune system mistakes food, bacteria, and other materials in the intestine for foreign or invading substances. When this happens, the body sends white blood cells into the lining of the intestines, where they produce chronic inflammation and ulcerations.
Initially I responded well to treatment but the last one year has been a struggle for me. The medication I have been using aim at suppressing my immune system which has seen me exposed to numerous opportunistic infections in the long run. I have been struggling with my normal day to day activities like work and social life due to the debilitating symptoms.
Currently my response to medication has been poor and It is for this reason that I have consulted with specialists locally and have been referred for specialized treatment in India to improve my quality of life and help me be able to handle my day to day activities.
Treatment cost is estimated at about 1.5 million Kenyan shillings. So far we have managed to raise Ksh. 800,000. Trusting God the figure will rise to assist in proper planning for the medical trip which had been scheduled for 31st May 2019.
Your generous contributions will go a long way in seeing this bill offset. May the Almighty God bless you as you plan to partner with us by making a contribution and spreading my story within your circles and on your social media platforms.
