Hope For Jeremy

My baby brother Jeremy was in a terrible car accident last Monday, April 2nd, and tragically suffered a very bad spine injury.  He had surgery Tuesday to put in place 12 screws and titanium.  He is only 23 years old, just got engaged to the love of his life, Jessica, only in February, with 2 baby girls and another baby on the way (he says it's a boy) :).  He has been told by the doctors that he may never walk again, with paralysis from the waist down.  This has devastated him because he was a sports star in high school and has always been very active in his children's lives.  He is very strong otherwise, very bright, and has a positive attitude.  I look up to him now even though he's my little brother.  He will be going to one of the best rehab facilities in the nation for spinal cord injuries, at Frazier Rehab Institute, but it's 2 hours away from where he lives.  He will be staying as inpatient for 4 weeks where his fiance could stay with him the whole time, but she obviously will have to bounce back and forth for the children.  So she is in need of a reliable wheelchair accessible minivan or similar to do this commute regularly, during his inpatient and outpatient care.  After the 4 weeks of inpatient rehab, he will be going for outpatient care about 3 times a week to try to regain some mobility in his lower body.  This facility has a great program called Locomotor training, which is cutting edge technology, where he can possibly be able to walk again, with enough dedication, motivation, hard work, and mostly the grace of God.  He will need to do this therapy for at least a year or two, so they may end up moving closer to the area as well, but they need financial help, as he is now unable to provide for his family until he is approved for disability.  So, this fundraiser is going to be used for getting them a reliable vehicle and helping them to possibly get their own place closer to his therapy, as well as helping with costs of therapy not covered by insurance.  This will be a dream come true for him!!  And all of us who love him so very much!!  Time is of the essence, as he is to start the inpatient program Monday April 9th.  I believe in miracles!  I hope you do too!
