HOPE for a Father’s Dream to Live Longer

In 2011, I was working as a teppanyaki chef (OFW) in India and has been there for more than one year. It was I think the peak of my career, when I was rushed to the hospital and was critical in another country alone, this was due to the doctor’s findings of my condition - chronic kidney disease (stage 5) or end-stage renal disease. I was being treated there but I was not aware that hemodialysis would be a very expensive and a lifetime treatment.
All my dreams were shattered, as a husband to my wife Michelle and a father of 3 smart and loving children whom I wanted to spend my life with (longer) until they successfully reached their own dreams in life. All of my three children almost stopped their studies due to financial difficulties. Though they are all scholars in their respective schools, they still need funds for other school’s expenses. Not to mention my continuous medical and hospitalization expenses that our family have to go through every week for my lifetime hemodialysis in order to extend my life. We can't even afford to rent our own home as well, that's why we live together with my parent's house and they provide us with our food as well.

Since I went back in Manila in that same year until now, I have tried my best to apply in different jobs, but due to my condition, they would just reject my application. And my condition would get worse because of my hypertension and the possiibility of stroke anytime since I easily get tired or having difficulty in breathing most of the time. But I still continue to find a job. Unfortunately, my sufferings did not end. Late last year, I was again rushed to the hospital due to polycystic kidney that led to kidney cancer (left kidney). And so it has to be urgently removed with a very high cost again, but with the help of families and friends, the surgery was successfully done.

As of now, we are still hoping for a kidney tranplant so that I can get back to work and help other kidney patients even in our own little way. I never lose hope. This has always been my dream as a father for my children’s future and to actively serve God thru singing and praising Him...again.
