I knock on your generous hearts today to help a selfless, young friend who has done so much for so many people in her community.
RD has dedicated a huge portion of herself, towards helping her church and her community. From feeding programs to medical missions to various church functions, RD is always there, ready to give her 110%. She also gave up a relatively stable profession in order to serve the parish she and her family have long been members of.
This year, RD was tasked to accompany her mother, who was gifted with her lifelongdream of being able to go on a pilgrimage to visit Our Lady of Fatima – on Our Lady’s 100th anniversary. Her mother is unable to travel by herself, and RD is troubled because as a church worker, she really does not have much on her, to fund the trip. However, independent-minded and fiercely protective of her aging parents, she is very much against burdening them with the mile-high costs she is sure to incur by joining the pilgrimage. This is why she is taking on whatever job or project she can handle to earn an honest living on the side.
She has confided that it is with high hopes that through this pilgrimage to among other others, Lourdes, France and Fatima, Portugal, RD may not only get to accompany her mother, but she may also get to be up close with Our Lady of Lourdes and Our Lady of Fatima in order to pray for a miracle for both her parents, her family, her community, her country, and those in dire need of prayers. (RD’s father is unable to join her mother as he has recently undergone a procedure, which he will still need to recover from.)
They leave soon, and though she received an offer to pay for the pilgrimage in advance, there is still so much for her to do and to need funds for. Plus, she would need to pay off the aforementioned amount advanced –for the fare, accommodation, meals, et al.
May this campaign be our dedicated, young lady’s answered prayers, a token of appreciation for being the giving being that she is, and a wonderful surprise for her and her family. Any help that you need would go towards helping this generous soul fulfill another’s lifelong dream. God bless you all!
