What does it mean?

I made this fundraiser to raise money for my studies on farm animals. My position is that the meat we consume must come from healthy animals that have not had to suffer. They should have all the guarantees necessary for life, such as food, water, shelter, freedom of movement, the social side and so on.

Digital dermatitis, laminitis, white line disease etc are the reasons why animals limp or are culled (sent to slaughter house or being euthanized) too early. Pain causes cortisol levels to rise, which in turn affects the product, the composition of the milk or meat. It is very common problem in dairy farms, but also concerns the beef cattle, sheep and pigs. Ignorance, lack of information and understanding of the seriousness are factors that hinder the farmers to fight against the hoof diseases.

Why i need your help?

The idea is to visit as much of farms as possible and examine their animals condition, welfare and analyse possible solutions for improving their animals health.
It means expences on bus tickets, food and housing.

Based on last data (2010) available in Statistics Estonia (www.stat.ee) There were approximately 9,000 companies in Estonia engaged in animal husbandry. About 4000 of them were cattle farms. So there is much to see.

As i am a broke student, your help will be highly appreciated.
