Honor orphans and street children through partnership with youth empowerment programme in kenya.

Orphaned, homeless and other unaccompanied children and young people—often referred to internationally as orphans and vulnerable children, represent a significant but poorly represented global population. The category ‘street children’, for example, contains a wide variety of young people, and the streets play different roles in their lives; moreover, the category often carries connotations of delinquency. To provide support for children connected to city streets, we need to inquire what precisely is the role of the streets in their lives. Similarly, a focus on orphan hood in intervention can lead to missing more fundamental sources of vulnerability in children’s lives, such as poverty. the limitation of survival as a focus for intervention, a focus that often results in missing important elements in young people’s lives, such as hope, love, meaning in life, and effective social relations. These children endure dangerous living conditions, sexual exploitation, violence and exposure to the elements. Equally devastating is the under-reported impact of an diagnosed and untreated childhood illnesses: high rates of preventable infections, lack of access to vaccinations and dental care, treatment and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, malnutrition, and the long-term psychological impact of stress. Innovative, effective solutions to address the social, economic and health conditions in which these children live and struggle are needed. There are many well-meaning humanitarian and governmental organizations, large and small, offering aid to vulnerable children. With the successful achievement of the programme the target orphaned, homeless and other unaccompanied children and young people in Kenya will take a bold step in addressing the challenge of youth employment in a coordinated and harmonized manner. It is therefore clear that tackling the challenges require innovative solutions that draw together multiple partners moving beyond the focus on numbers to the quality and sustainability of these interventions. There is thus a need for diverse solutions that respond to the unique needs of different groups recognizing each region’s unique challenges and contextual differences. It is therefore important to develop youth employment projects, programs and policies that are evidence based and results oriented by adopting an approach to youth employ ability that builds on strong partnerships. For this reason Centre for creative art youth empowerment foundation has brought along with it orphaned, homeless and other unaccompanied children and young people to be part of its project by giving them home which they have really missed, hope, skills through innovative training and talent recognition, health, time management skills, discipline, nutritional recovery, and other milestones yet to be developed. Social workers will provide psycho social support and counseling. They are taught to make ornaments through weaving, tailoring, canvassing among others from recycled materials. The products include bodily, kitchen, artifacts, beads products for consumption by the children themselves and for sale, and are taught trade skills which will a low them be useful members of the society through self reliance for those who may choose to leave the school. The project has so far attracted many children and teenagers way beyond the organizations capacity and for that reason we appeal to well-wishers to help us expand the facility and equipments by donating, sharing, praying and liking our page or both so that we are able to extend our commitment to all vulnerable brothers and sisters, sons and daughters just like its quoted in the Holly bible that he who gives shall receive. Thank you for taking the time to read about this amazing opportunity to be a part of a life changing project.
