(descrição do projecto - http://opwall.com/undergrad-research-assistants/lo...)

Hello, my name is André Raio and I'm a student of Natural History at South Wales University in Cardiff. Through the Operation Wallacea organization I'm going to join in a volunteer/project as a research assistant with a group of scientists in Honduras and it would be great to count with your help! (description of the project - http://opwall.com/undergrad-research-assistants/lo...)

The forests of Central America are some of the most species diverse forests in the world but have now been badly endangered due to deforestation; as per the Caribbean coral (the 2nd largest in the world) it's endangered due to mass mortality of keystone sea urchins, invasive species and over fishing of reef fish by local communities.

The role of the Opwall teams is therefore to complete annual surveys of the key biodiversity taxa to check on changes and establish key management priorities and gaps in our current understanding of tropical marine coastal ecosystem function.

The costs of the expedition are high (the description above DOESN'T include flights + necessary equipment) but the experience and the knowledge it's gonna make up :)

In alternative I leave here my IBAN PT50 0035 0995 00540190330 98 / NIB 0035 0995 00540190330 98

Obrigado pelo vosso tempo a ler o meu projecto!

Thanks for your time to read my plea!
