Homeless not Hopeless – ‘Every Body needs a Home’

Homeless not Hopeless was created through Mark Roberts, the founder- and his many years of interest in supporting the homeless.

Mark & other volunteers, go into London regularly to cut the hair of homeless people and distribute blankets, warm clothes, basic toiletries, soup and food.

When monetary donations allow, we arrange for nights in hostels and hotels for homeless people, to allow them to have respite from the elements & a hot meal.

This time enables us to better understand their experiences and better equip us in dealing with other homeless people in the future.

While most of our blankets and other provisions are provided through kind donations, we always need more.

Your donation will help us provide more blankets, warm clothes, basic toiletries, soup & food and hostel & hotel nights for the homeless.

We are also hoping to expand to be able to offer more hot food services, provide more regular opportunities for nights in hostels/hotels, and extend our reach to help as many of the homeless as possible.

A little background to Homeless not Hopeless

For many of the years supporting the homeless, Mark volunteered with a number of homeless charities providing hair cuts to those who were homeless, spending time talking to them and getting to know them and their stories.

Over time he tried to do more and during Christmas 2015, with the help of a number of friends and many kind donations distributed some blankets and warm clothes to those homeless in certain areas of London.

He met a Bulgarian man who was homeless and joined Mark's family on Christmas Day.

Through sharing his experiences, Homeless not Hopeless was created to raise awareness, break down some of the stigma attached to homelessness and encourage others to support it any way they felt able- whether buying someone a coffee and something to eat, or having a chat, or some other way.

This gradually evolved into providing haircuts, blankets, soup etc and a desire to be able to do so much more.
