My name's Amy.
My husband John and I are appealing for your help in helping a local homeless man who so very very kindly returned my husbands lost wallet that he had dropped as he got into a cab.
His name is Len and he walked 6 miles!! from Birmingham city centre to our home after looking up our address on my husbands Driving Licence. When we asked him why he hadn't just given it in at a police station he just said he thought John might need it quicker than if he had waited for the police to return it!! :)
Len has a very unfortunate story which is his private business but after we invited him in for a hot drink and something to eat he told us he has been homeless now for 2 years after an unfortunate divorce. His life spiralled out of control through depression and he found himself out in the cold.
Len didn't even accept our offer of a room for the night as he didn't want to be a burden. He sleeps in a doorway by the station. :(
So my husband and I have decided to help Len get his life back on track by helping him find a home and new belongings so he has some sense of self worth. All he wants in his words is somebody to give him a chance at rebuilding his life by getting employment which as a homeless person he feels his chances are limited.
So we please please ask you for your kindness in helping Len get a new lease of life.
Please give whatever you can.
Thank you so very much. xx
