I am a 49 yr old single male. I have worked hard all my life to lose everything I own and my job last September of 2011. This pretty much left me living on a family members back porch, but I really just wanted to take care of my own life, so I went camping, hunting and fishing. I have spent almost the last year living off the land, working as a ranch hand, farm help, doing day labor, anything I could do to survive. I do all of this on my bicycle/buggy and I pull with all of my camping gear and supplies. I have learned to become pretty skilled at being a, " Modern Day Hobo "
I recently visited my family member and can no longer stay there do to rent restrictions and rules. So I started out on another bicycle trip and unfortunately broke my ankle. I can not travel or work now and I am pretty much stranded with out a place to pitch my tent and cannot afford to pay for a camp ground either. Also when I broke my ankle, it broke some of my supplies and gear, and some of the rest of it went missing while I was in the E.R. getting my ankle attended to and also getting stiches in my finger.
I don't really like asking for help, but I am at my physical and mental limit as to how much I can do. Small things like an am/fm radio, $10.00 tracfone from walmart and batteries for lanterns mean alot to homeless people.
Like I said, I hate asking for help, but I am at the point where I really don't have a choice, if I do raise any money, I will donate any extra to the nearest shelter for homeless women and children or to any food pantry. I have learned to live on little, but I am always willing to share what I have with anyone else who needs it. 2 or 3 dollars goes along way when you are homeless and injured. So help if you can, say a prayer if you can’t. And just to let you all know, I am not an alcohalic/addict and I read the Bible every day.
Like I said, I don’t like asking for hand outs, but I am physically drained and mentally spent. I would also try to keep some of my dignity and not have to stand on the side of the road with a sign. So if your spare 2 or 3 dollars, it would help me greatly.
( The picture of me and my stuff was taken in the garage of the person who picked me up from the E.R., they just to not have a lot of room for guests)
Thank You and God Bless,
