I'm not one for asking, that much anyone that knows me can tell you. But I've come to realise that I won't make the needle move without your help.

I never saw it coming. When my laptop started slowing down I adapted in patience but still content to my normal daily computing. Then it happened. Glitches, strange log entries, screen freezes, and files changing names before my very eyes. My heart sank. Hacked!

I thought I was extra vigilant and cyber attacks wouldn't really affect me this badly. But nothing could have prepared me for effectively living life as a Bile Bear, being drained of my energy and seeing how my equipment and I succumbed to violation and how my data was never to my own property again.

One should consider (In) Secure Issue 32, December 2011 quoting Lieberman Software’s password survey highlighting that IT pros find it difficult to resist snooping. Some 42% are sharing passwords to access applications or systems, and 26% reported privileged login abuse by a staff member known to them. Illicit access by rogue professionals is one thing, but it often hits much closer to home. The person right next to you.

The only thing left for me to do is build my own open source system to reclaim control. I've been reduced to a shell of a being over 14 years at the hands of cyber voyeurs; now, homeless, penniless, and living in a car for 11 months. But all of that is about to change when I build my own system and tell my story. Funding will also make a South African Cyber Tour possible to spread hope and share all technical knowledge to also help others build systems and combat cyber violations.

I should possibly ask for more since I'd need paid professional input from time to time, but then again, people have proven to be astoundingly generous with their kjnowledge and time in the open source community.

I can only express my sincere gratitude that you are even reading this. What I do promise is that I'd do my utmost to keep you updated weekly, and definitely I plan to post a monthly income and expense report. I believe in transparency and integrity.

Thanks SO much for contributing!!
