I recently moved to Cape Town (South Africa) in the hopes of creating a reasonably confortable living for me and my dog, Janet. Cape Town is great - we have Table Mountain, beaches, winelands...

However, Cape Town accommodation is extremely expensive! Janet and I moved into a cold place (tile floors and no heating) with minimal (broken!) furniture, a leaking shower and a broken toilet. 

Soooooooo... that brings me to the reason for this campaign: I would like to buy a carpet for the house to create a feeling of warmth, get some heating and fix the place up a bit (I did manage to fix the toilet in the mean time, although it cost me an arm and a leg!). If I can achieve that and have a little left over, I will use that to further my studies to improve my prospects in the job market.

Why should you help me?

The truth is that there is no justifiable reason I can think of why you should help me. Except that it will be a good thing you will be doing for someone else. I have thought a lot about what I could tell you about me and my circumstances that will convince you, and in the end I decided on just being honest. Perhaps my honesty is worth rewarding? Otherwise, I'll go with pleeeeeeeeeze...
