My name is Celia Sue Hecht. I am 69 and on my birthday in November I will be 70. I live in Central California, Marina. Today I come to you with a special request for help. For 5 years now my beloved Dog Cici (13 years old)... (she just passed Over the Rainbow) and I have had to sleep in a car because my Social Security was not enough to pay for rent. Would love to buy a little camper, a tiny home of my own, so I can sleep in a bed, heal and recover and be protected, especially now during the cold season.

Approximately a total of $1,200 per home plus trailers: for me, Deborah, Josie, Sara, Jenny, Tamara and others in Monterey, CA area. It is very cold and URGENT... I am a published author, (soon a book coming out about Hippies contains four chapters that I wrote), co-author of five romantic travel guides, a peaceworker, freelance writer/editor, blogger, animal lover (worked at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary once upon a time) and activist. I am best known for my Have Dog Blog Will Travel blog for 12 years. But, you rarely get rich as a writer, and freelancing jobs come and go with the wind. Lost a great job last year working on an anti-trafficking newsletter due to the loss of a major donor/funder.

I write about other senior women without homes and advocate for them. There are 1,000+ women without homes in this area. 40% of those without homes are 50+ and 45% of those 65+ cannot meet their basic needs.
