Home Repairs for Retiring Couple

Packing up your life and moving to a new place to retire should be an enjoyable time of life. We found our new retirement home to begin that chapter of our life but knew we had work to do in this house. The home was in a nice location but not so great of interior condition.

Our home purchase went normal and we began to remove and repair 25+ year old failing fixtures, etc. In July our AC totally blew and we had to purchase a complete new system for over $6,000. Living in the South where it’s always 80-90 doesn’t allow doing without an AC unit!

We have been doing all of our own labor on bringing the home’s old, outdated, and non-maintained items back to acceptable.

The cost of the AC unit (and other repair costs)left us unable to complete the flooring in the home. The current floor is carpet that is over 25 years old. Since the house was only lived in one month of the year for the past 25 years (and left without AC when the owners were not present) the seams are falling apart, etc.

Help us complete the floors (last unfinished item) so we can retire in a clean and safe home.
