Home of the Brave's Portrait of America Postcard Initiative is a print collection of postcards that captures what matters most to America.

We've noticed that our current state of debate often leaves no space for vulnerability, which backs us further into ideological corners and polarizes the opinion of the other past the point of conversation. What's worse- our vulnerabilities often look a lot like our motives, and when we can't share these, we can never achieve understanding.

So we're distributing several thousand postcards across the United States asking Americans about their hopes and fears for the nation in order to learn more about what really matters to us all.

We will be sharing a few of our favorite answers on social media and, at the end of our journey, compiling a book of even more.

Our goal is that sharing hopes and fears will allow us to recognizeshared humanity in opinions different than our own. We want to reveal America not in reds and blues, but dimensions of lavender.
