Home of SMC

Providing Member Care for workers in ID is a new concept to both sending agencies and the workers themselves. SMC aims both to support field workers so that they are healthy, resilient and effective in their work, and to educate and demonstrate to sending agencies (including churches) the requirement and benefits of providing such care to those they send to the field.

This campaign is to obtain funds to support the SMC projects and operational and as additional to the other fund raiser that we arrange with the team in SMC.

The opportunity now exists for National to train and learn to lead a voluntary network in Sumatera, which began to consolidate in 2019 and we feel that this member care ministry really needed for national friends in the field.

Thank God that since Oct 2020, we rent a house as Home of SMC for 2 years until Sept 2022 and already running to be also as training center to equip and train the team by the Member care ID Leaders about how to do the Member care.

Latest update when this campaign made were some of our friends from the field served and take their Leave were they really enjoy the resting time and fellowship, debriefing and others activities; with their family celebrate Christmas and New year 2021 in the Home of SMC and they were recharged and felt blessed to have this house and team to take care for them and their family.

SMC is the tool to Promote and demonstrate the concept and culture of good member care to sending agencies in Sumatra and To train individuals (workers and their families) to care for themselves in remote and difficult circumstances.

We also support and facilitate workers result in their ministry to the new disciples.

Sustainability will be achieved as agencies and workers in ID become more aware and trained in providing good pro-active support and ongoing care to workers and take up the responsibility for this. At this time SMC has been operating for almost one year, and there has been a marked improvement in the health and resilience of known contacts in remote areas who have partaken of the education and training provided over the last year.

The funding that collected from the campaign will go to the Home of SMC where we need to do some home repairs and painting, additional set up cost and regular maintenance including monthly expense, office costs, visits and field trip cost to the place where the field workers are, in house training and mobilization cost, specialist care supports, etc.

We hope that in the future Full timer Team at SMC can support their lives outside of the SMC budget, but for the moment the budget for salaries and benefit still included in this campaign fundraising.
