In April, 2016, I moved into a duplex that went on the market in July, and sold in 3 days. The new owners liked what I had done so much in my unit, they evicted me and moved into my unit, honestly. Those were their exact words. On September 1, my 16 years old cat and I began house-surfing, ranch sitting, and meandering. On March 3, of this year, I finally had saved enough of my disability money to get us a rental house. My possessions are, quite literally, on the opposite side of the state from me, in Corvallis, Oregon. I am asking for $900.00 to rent a 26' U-Haul w/ insurance ($648), pay for one night's lodging & food ($87.00), & gas for the 385 mile trip ($200). I am job hunting, signed up for temp work, and have put ads up on Craigslist and local sites for housekeeping work. If you would prefer that any money donated be paid back with in-kind servcies, I am completely open t that. I really would like to have a sense of being settled and leave my feelings of being displaced behind.
