Life Saving Home for a Senior

Hello, my name is Celia Sue Hecht. I will be 69 in November. I live in Central California. Today I come to you with a special request for assistance. I have been diagnosed with breast cancer and need surgeries asap. Doctors (five of them) tell me I need to have two surgeries (for my aorta stenosis (narrow) / heart failure and cancer which has returned) and herbs and medicine.

For four years now my beloved dog Cici (12 years old) and I have slept in a car because my Social Security check is not enough to pay for rent in CA, NV, Utah, AZ, and other states.

We are not alone. There are 1,000 women over 50 in Monterey just like us and in the US, more than 1/3 of those without homes are 50+ years.

I had a great job for two years but lost it in May due to a major funder reneging on a donation to the non-profit I wrote/edited a weekly newsletter for. My former boss would love to rehire me when he can.

In the meanwhile, we would love to acquire a little camper, a tiny home of our own, so we can sleep in a bed, heal and be protected, especially before, during and after my surgeries and especially because it is the cold season. Cici my dog needs to be taken care of while I am recovering and it will be easier to have people walk her daily. Many dog lovers do not have room to care for her. She is my best friend and a daily joy for me. So we both really need a camper to rest and recover in.

The money from my SS retirement check barely covers expenses and doesnʻt cover a life saving home. So, I am turning to you and asking for financial support. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance from our hearts.
