As a final resort I am fundraising in order to pay a 6 month lump sum of rent on a property. The reason I am having to go down this route is because the local authorities are refusing to help me because I apparently made myself "intentionally homeless", this however is not the case.....I did have a flat through the local authorities up until March of last year but unfortunately I ended up in hospital over the Christmas period prior to being evicted, me being in hospital resulted in some rent arrears and when the housing association came to the property to speak with me about the arrears I obviously was not there as I was in hospital. When I returned home from hospital I was greeted with an eviction notice and was forced to leave my home, this was a very distressing time. I provided the local authorities with doctors notes and evidence of me being in hospital but was told that they no longer have a duty to help myself and my seven year old daughter.

I then moved to Cornwall to temporarily stay with my father until 6 weeks ago when we received the very awful news that my brother had been in an accident at work and broken his spine. He will be spending up to a year in a specialist spinal unit and will never walk again. Naturally I returned home to be nearer to him and to help out with his two young boys.

With the local council still refusing to help and actually being quite nasty about the whole situation myself and my seven year old daughter have been staying where we can, when we can but we are running out of places to stay now and running out of energy to keep moving around, we just want somewhere to call home!

I have been working when I can but pretty much all I earn is used on travelling to get to and from school or where ever we may be staying that night. I have not been able to get her Christmas presents either due to all of the travelling expenses, but I have arranged for her to go away to her nana's in Scarborough for the Christmas and new year period so she can have a lovely family Christmas with her nana (her fathers mother). I know that she will give her a better Christmas than I can offer, ironically I have signed up to volunteer with the homeless on Christmas Day!

I am hoping and praying that I can get a home sorted for my daughter and I for when she returns home, I will be working flat out all day every day and evening to get her Christmas presents for when she returns home.

The only way I can get a home in place is by paying 6 months rent upfront on a property as being a single parent I do not earn enough to cover it on my own. Any donation small or large will be greatly appreciated!

Thankyou in advance for even taking the time to read this and I hope you all have a lovely Christmas!
