POOR CHILDREN IN POOR SCHOOLS SIT ON COLD BARE FLOORS PLEASE HELP GIVE THEM A SEAT

It’s no longer news in less developed countries especially African countries that educational growth is stagnated and the discourse is placed at the very bottom of governments concerns, as little or no attention is paid to this area, and even I a postgraduate student is currently on an indefinite strike action in one of the leading African public universities (Uniben), but that is not the reason for this project. Research has shown that due to the proliferation of successive weak laws and incompetent hands in the Nigerians schooling system, it has led to sporadic increase in expensive private schools which has been a major factor polarizing the academic sector were the rich kids now go to private schools and the public schools are left for the “have nots”. These public schools due to government nonchalant attitude have been left in shambles and ruin as children now learn in classes without roofs, some sit on the cold bare floor, some learn in open environments under trees, some classes lack windows and doors etc. Children who come from such poor homes for no fault of theirs are been subjected to such harsh conditions of learning by the poor condition of their parents and the government of the day. An ordinary man’s child cannot have quality education in a country where he was born. This has made it impossible for children from such backgrounds to match up with his mates from rich homes and these tends to reproduce more poverty strife, hunger robbery cyber crimes etc because many have actually missed the basics of life. This project is specifically targeted at children -- the envisaged leaders of tomorrow who are being made to sit on cold bare floors, exposed to open air as there are no windows and doors in some of these government abandoned secondary school in Edo state Nigeria and in extension the northern part of the country Nigeria. This anomaly will be solved by providing benches, doors and windows in some of these schools. Learning is said to be a permanent change in a person’s cognitive and behavioral patterns usually induced by teaching. This is said to happen more effectively in a conducive learning environment and it’s quite obvious that sitting on the floor and secondly in an exposed classroom is definitely not conducive and of which inhibits learning and would contribute to the reproduction of ill-leaders that currently rule the country Nigeria. Please nothing is too big or too small to give these helpless little ones quality and proper educational environments which will lead to an increase in academic appetite of these little ones in their hostile environments and also make them at par with their privileged counterparts.
