Holiday Help

Hello, all!

I think you all know about my "little sister' Anisha, who I was matched with through Big Brother Big Sister in 2000 when she was 12 years old. She is now 29 (!!!!) she graduated from high school, is running her own kitchen working for Denver Public Schools, and is a mother to almost 3-year old Jasmine.

I am so proud of all she has accomplished and overcome - and she is such a cool lady now :) She leaves for work every morning at 5 am, and her boyfriend also works for DPS, and he also works part time at Target for extra income. They live in the Woodhaven apartments, where Kristen, Holly and I lived when we first moved to Denver! Rent has increased exponentially and they are paying $1465/month plus $700/month in daycare and make just enough combined to not qualify for any public assistance.

I would love to pull together a month of rent and pay it anonymously to the leasing agent. I think one month of rent could really help get them through the next year until Jasmine can start DPS preschool and they can stop daycare payments.
