Holding onto our Family Home & Farm

Our family home in The Gambia for over 30 years and our family poultry farm have both been lawfully re-issued back to us following a review of all unlawfully seized properties in the previous administering regime...

- Why are we crowdfunding:

The farm and the house have been the tireless work of our parents who were due to retire. Both properties were unlawfully seized and occupied back in 2007 (family home) and 2010 (family farm) by the previous administration.
Following a positive decision by the courts to return all unlawful seized properties from the previous regime, the current Gambian administrators have rightfully re-issued us our family home and farm, however at a high price and restricted timeline. With our savings combined and help from family members/friends, we kindly need your assistance...

- How soon we need the funds:

The deadline for the payment is £138,000 GBP (D8,400,000 GAMBIAN DALASIS) by 30 May 2020. We are currently seeking legal advice and appeal to retain 1 of the 2 in the interim for £52,000 GBP (D3,150,000 Gambian Dalasis)

- What the funds will be used for:

The funds will be paid directly to the officials (Ministry of Justice) administering the seizure of the properties (account details above). Once the funds have been paid we will retain back both our family home and farm after 14 years under seizure and occupation.

- What happens if we don’t meet the deadline

Both properties will be retaken by the current administration if we don’t raise the funds to meet the deadline. We are in the interim seeking legal advice to extend the deadline.

- What the support will mean to us:

We will be sincerely grateful, thankful and would kindly request donors to visit us should you ever travel to The Gambia! Your support will mean we retain what was initially rightfully ours.
