Holding my mother’s hand

My mom raised me alone by herself.

I am who I am thanks to her.

This March we found out that she has aggressive cancer in her lungs.

We started chemo right away.

Witnessing the loss of hair, her color, shine in her eyes was painful.

Due to the treatment sometimes her Sodium levels are dropping, which reduces her cognitive abilities. In such situations, only IVs can be applied and blood levels raised under hospital care.

Treatment is brutal but it brought her back, removed the pain, blood levels are acceptable nowadays.

If you have cancer, you have good days and more often bad days.

We cherish good ones and we are there on the bad days to share everything.

Good days will stretch to good weeks. And months. And we aim for years. With your help.

So we have to keep fighting. We have to continue the treatment, medication, and support.

We are at the end of our savings and already in debts to our friends, caring people.

At the moment our estimation is around 5700USD for chemotherapies, medication and frequent hospital care.

A 1000USD will be spent on doctor visits.

Another 2000USD we will save for really bad days which we hope never comes.

Our situation is dire and we really need help from good-hearted people from any belief, any origin, any ideology.

This is my last chance to be able to keep holding her hand.
