Dear Friends, Family and All Backers,
Thank you all for visiting my campaign page. My name is Annmarie. I was born and raised in the Coastal city of Mombasa County in Kenya. I successfully completed my O levels, enrolled for my first Bachelors degree completed and enrolled for my Masters degree completed and did exemplary well in all.
Upon completion, I landed a job in a Dutch company that dealt with Oil and Gas and had started its operations in Kenya but it later shut down as it could not sustain its operations in the country. We all lost our jobs, this was barely a month after my wedding. Life has never been tougher!
In the wake of corruption in my country I have never been able to secure a job though I have been invited for interviews, done exemplary well and inside sources confirm I was first position.
All they needed to give me a job was a bribe. A large sum of money that I should bribe my way out to get a job. Not only a job I qualified for but also I was first position in the interview and the panel loved me, my personality, skills and credentials. What a rotten society!
I ultimately gave up on finding a job. In 2017, I drafted a business plan but it has never come to fruition as I lacked funds. Life got tougher!
Recently, I rolled up my sleeves and begun my journey of searching online for crowd funding and fortunately the search engine led me to GoGetfunding.
The business I want to start is not just because I want to do something but because of passion and hence Passion meets the business idea. I love cooking, I love everything and anything about food. Not just food! But good food.
I would love to start a small fast food restaurant that would mainly be dealing with the following foods; Chips, Chicken, Hotdogs, Burgers, Pizza,Shawarma and fresh juices.
I know you would ask why this niche? The reason as to why I have gone this route is because no one in the region I stay offers Shawarma and this will give me a competitive edge against other fast food restaurants.
What is Shawarma? Shawarma is a Middle East delicious thinly sliced chicken, veggies and sauce sandwiched in pita bread. This is a food or snack loved by many and most of people in my region would travel to other far regions to get this mouth delicacy so after doing a Market analysis I said to myself why should I not tap into this?
Shawarma looks small but is a lucrative business. I know of a guy in Nigeria who is a graduate like me and couldnt find a job and ventured into this. He was laughed at, mocked and ridiculed but Ikem now owns 20 outlets and in each outlet he gets a minimum of 200,000 Naira per day. How much does this transalatr to? He has now become an employer. He gets so much than what he would have gotten from a whitecollar job.
I would need a sum of £4500 to fast kick my operations very soon. This money would be used as follows;
- Secure a rental facility that requires us to pay two months deposit, one month rent and agent fee
- Equipment ( Shawarma machine, Gas, Gas cooker, oven, pizza machine, double fryer, blender, microwave, deepfreezer, chips cutter, cutlery)
- We would need interior done.
- Set up( fixing of chimney, counter tops, partitioning)
- Cost of food items to start with.
- Printing of banners and flyers to create awareness of our presence.
- Miscellaneous Costs.
I really want to start this like yesterday and as soon as funds begin streaming in I would start. Help me bring this into fruition. In case of any information relating to the business idea or a complete business proposal reach me at; [email protected]
I look forward to your humble donations. Thank you and God bless you all as you purpose to hold my hand.
