Hogar El Sol

Hogar El Sol is an institution that houses people who have severe intellectual disabilities and extremely minimal financial means to support themselves. The facility creates a safe home by building solid ties between the residents and promoting the rights of people with this disability. The state only pays enough expenses to "sustain" the physical home so basic necessities and activities cost money out of pocket. Residents range from 21 years old to 50 and many have stayed in the facility for years. Currently, the most urgent need is to be able to build and equip the toy library, a space that, in the winter months now, is vital so that young people can circulate the game and learn linguistics. Your donations will go towards creating a room for all 40 residents equipped with their first television, reading books, a music system, a set of lights, cushions and mats, various table games and set of chairs, art materials such as brushes, acrylics, colors and others, some toys to assemble games, and bookcases.
