Hoërskool Warmbad is a dual medium (Afrikaans and English) high school that opened it's doors in 1947. The school has more than 600 learners (46% Afrikaans, and 54% English), and is one of the Top 3 performing schools in Limpopo. In 2019 the school achieved a 99.4% Matric Pass Rate.
The Governing Body of the school employs half of the teachers at the school, and more than half of the total workforce. It pays salaries and other expenses out of school fees and donations from supporters.
Our town, like many many other places in South Africa is going through a tough time during the COVID-19 lock-down. Schooling continues on Google Classroom and the teachers remain dedicated to providing the students with quality teaching material.
We absolutely understand that the lock-down has created unfamiliar situations and that many people are battling to financially keep their heads above water. However, High School Warmbad requires funds to pay their teachers. We have received 25% of the amount required to remunerate the teachers at the next pay period.
It is essential that even under these difficult circumstances we do not compromise our children's education. Therefore we have decided to reach out to a broader community to assist us in paying our teachers. Should we not be able to secure the funds it will not only impact our teachers, but our children as well. Take the lead and donate to help our teachers to continue to educate our children.
Thank you in advance for any contribution you can make to keep us teaching.
