At the peak of Covid-19 shutdown, a group of passionate students decided that nothing is going to stop them from music-making. Students Him Chan, Daria Chung, Ivy Kan, Enoch Li, Stone Tung and Rachel Wong have created a youth orchestra, allowing students from different secondary schools and colleges to join together to shed some light during these gloomy times.

The Hong Kong Youth Philharmonia is a newly established orchestra of students aged 21 or under. Our current players study in schools all around the world, including the UK, USA and France. Our aim is to allow the younger generation of this industry to express their love and passion for music, and to share our happiness to you as well.

We are sincerely thankful that the Diocesan Boys’ School and 703studio have generously provided us with our concert venue and a discounted rehearsal venue rental price respectively. With a limited budget, we ask if you can help us with our orchestra operating expenses. This money will cover spendings on instruments transportation, printing and programmes 5 3-hour rehearsals in 703 Studio on July 27, 30 and August 3, 6, 10. We would love to reach our goal of $10000 capital by July 8, but any donations are welcome one week before our concert on August 7th.

All our extra donations will proceed to The Music Children Foundation, an NGO that aims to provide free-of-charge music programmes to underprivileged children aged 16 or below in Hong Kong. For more information, please visit their website www.musicchildren.org.hk .

Our not-for-profit concert is on 14th of August, 2021 at 8:00pm in the Diocesan Boys’ School Yip Kit Chuen Hall, and we will be performing Dukas’ La Peri Fanfare, Beethoven’s Symphony No.1 and Dvorak’s Symphony No.8. As a fully student-led orchestra, your donation is all the support we need. Thank you and we hope to see you there!

在疫情肆虐之下，一班熱愛音樂的學生不希望因此在音樂路上留下一篇空白，因而組成一隊青年樂團。陳諾謙 Him、鍾安澄 Daria、簡翠希 Ivy、李睿正 Enoch、董書廷 Stone、黃蔚晴 Rachel 六位學生來自不同的中學及大學，希望自己所創立的樂團能使熱愛音樂的學生不被疫情籠罩了自己的夢想，能夠繼續在台上發光發熱。

Hong Kong Youth Philharmonia是一隊完全由學生所成立和主導的樂團，由二十一歲或以下的成員組成。當中，多位樂隊成員正就讀世界各地，包括英、美、法多地的音樂學院。樂團宗旨在於讓年輕一代的音樂人能夠抒發並與大家分享自己對音樂的喜愛及熱情。

衷心感謝703studio 讓我們以優惠價租用排練場地，以及拔萃男書院慷慨地為我們提供了免費演出場地。在有限資源之下，希望各位能支助我們樂團的經費，如樂器運輸費、場刊印刷費和租用排練場地的費用（五次各三小時的排練， 排練日期分別為7月27、30號及8月3、6、10號）。我們希望能在7月8號前達到$10000的籌款目標，但依然歡迎所有直至8月14日前的贊助。如幸有餘款，將全數捐助於音樂兒童基金會。歡迎瀏覽網站www.musicchildren.org.hk 了解更多。
