Campaign Story
While working in the Middle East, I did a routine medical test for the renewal of my work visa. The results showed that I am HIV+. The medical center called me to come get my results, without telling me any details. Once there, i was informed of the results by a doctor in front of other people (absolutely no respect of the medical secret), and several colleagues were made aware of my condition. After being told that I am HIV+ and, I quote, that “the only thing to do is pray now” by a so called “doctor”, i was locked in an ambulance and sent to a detention center where I was detained with no medical supervision for 6 days, in a dormitory with other people in my case. After my detention I was deported and banned for life from the country that I considered home for over a decade.
I have lost my job, I have lost my life, i have lost my medical insurrance, I have lost my friends, and I am now in a situation where I must take an expensive lifetime treatment with no revenue.
At 50, it is not easy to find another job especially since most of my experience was based in the Middle East, where I am now banned from entering, and my condition has been made aware to a rather large number of people, and that number keeps growing.
Until I can manage to get better and find a job, i am eally hoping that I could count on your generosity to get my monthly medication and do my quarterly checkups to,remain safe.
Thanking you in advance and giving you all my blessings.
