About
Hiraeth is a Welsh word meaning nostalgia, or homesickness. Difficult to translate, it embodies a sense of longing for a lost time or era; a feeling of absence for a place or a person.
We are students of MA Documentary Photography, at the University of South Wales. Hiraeth is our graduate exhibition in October, where we’ll be showcasing our work; stories from home, and far away places.
Rich in diversity, we share a commitment to tell our stories with empathy and understanding. Our projects include: intimate autobiographical revelations, observations of the complexities of family life, connections with ancestral heritage, and stories of place. In all of these we aspire to interrogate and challenge established narratives.
