I was born with Congenital Hip Dislocation 1963 - which is now considered as Hip Dysplasia.

I have excrucuating pain and with circumstances beyone our control we were not lucky enough to keep medical aid. I am at a point where both the side of my kness are knocking on each other -

Charlotte Maxeke were going to help in 6 - 8 weeks from September - yet I wait. I have had doctors call and they on leave.

I have a job to return to - but need the strength of my legs. My husband has been unemployed for the last 7 years, also unwell. I need to work to support him.

I have a quote from a doctor for the OP or even if I could get assistance to speed up the process to Governement Care.Fwd: HIP DYSPLASIA - please forward response

Good afternoon Elizabeth

Thank you very much for your email and for dropping off your xrays at my rooms.

I have had a look at the xray films that you dropped off and you do indeed have quite significant destruction of the the hip joints bilaterally secondary to your underlying hip dysplasia. Taking into consideration your severe pain and not limited activities of daily living you would qualify for a total hip replacement.

The estimated cost for a hip replacement in the private sector would fall in the region of R150 000- R200 000, this would include the hospital fee, prosthesis price, surgeon + assistant, anaesthetist + physiotherapist.

I look forward to hearing back from you

Kind regards

Dr AFC Garcez

I amd at my wits end.
